The George Floyd Memorial Foundation honors the legacy of George Floyd, a Fayetteville, North Carolina native who excelled as a high school athlete and was a trailblazer in his family, being one of the first to attend college. Devoted to his Christian faith, Floyd became a dedicated church volunteer and mentor to at-risk youth in his community.
The Foundation's mission is to amplify voices for change, confront systemic barriers, and eradicate violence against unarmed, non-violent Black individuals, advocating for criminal justice reform through both grassroots efforts and public advocacy.
In support of this mission, I traveled to George Floyd’s hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, to contribute to the March of George Floyd, ensuring it was a significant and impactful event for his family and community. My work included designing T-shirts, Covid-19 masks, an out-of-home (OOH) banners, while creating engaging content for the Instagram feed. This campaign was prominently featured in People Magazine, highlighting our commitment to preserving Floyd's legacy and advancing justice.
